This national distinction recognizes these hospitals’ achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error.
“At Inspira, our goal as a High Reliability Organization is to place the safety of our patients at the center of all we do, and these Hospital Safety Grades reinforce that commitment,” said Amy Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health. “We are so proud of this outstanding recognition from The Leapfrog Group, as it reaffirms our ongoing dedication to providing safe, compassionate care to the community.”
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization, which has assigned letter grades to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures for more than 10 years. Hospital Safety Grade results are based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public, and results are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“I applaud the hospital leadership and workforce for their strong commitment to safety and transparency,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’ Safety Grade is a sign that hospitals are continuously evaluating their performance, so that they can best protect patients. Your hospital team should be extremely proud of their dedication and achievement.”
