“Inspira’s mission is to provide a safe and compassionate patient experience, and our team understands that quality is at the foundation of patient care,” said Amy Mansue, President and CEO of Inspira Health. “As a committed High Reliability Organization, each Inspira employee is empowered to ensure the highest quality of care and best patient experience. We are grateful for this recognition from The Leapfrog Group, a national leader in measuring and promoting patient safety. These A’s are a testament to the commitment of our Inspira family to provide safe care within our facilities.”
Inspira Elmer has now achieved straight A’s since the spring 2016 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. Inspira Mullica Hill’s “A” is particularly noteworthy as this was the first time the hospital was eligible to receive a safety grade since its opening in December of 2019. Inspira Medical Center Vineland received a “B” and is actively working to earn an “A” in spring 2022, as it did last fall and again this spring.
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“An ‘A’ Safety Grade is a tremendous achievement, of which this community should be extremely proud,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I thank the leadership and workforce of Inspira Medical Center Elmer and Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill for its commitment to prioritizing patients and their safety, especially during these trying times.”
