MAJOR FUNCTION:

Non-licensed staff member who, under the direction of a registered nurse provides physical care and emotional support to patients from five to seventeen years of age. Maintains a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment while providing primary care and supervision. Develops and implements psychosocial group activities. Documents both group and individual patient care interventions and outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Previous experience with children preferred.
  • Previous experience with mental health preferred.
  • Successful work experience as verified by reference check.

Certification/Licensure:

  • BLS required.
  • Welle training will be provided within 90 days.
  • American Association Psychiatric Tech certification preferred.
