MAJOR FUNCTION:

The Non EMT Rescue Tech is responsible for fire suppression and towing duties on the racetrack. In order to perform these tasks properly, the Non EMT Rescue Tech must display professional interaction with everyone involved, promote a positive working relationship with his/her peers, maintain a strict sense of confidentiality, identify problems, and recommend solutions, assume personal responsibility for the maintenance of appropriate certifications, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Graduate.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current CPR Card (American Heart Association) required.
  • Valid driver’s license in NJ in accordance with Inspira Health’s Fleet Safety ADM.291*IHN* required.
  • Preferred ICS 100, NIMS 700.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Considerable knowledge of operations of towing, rollback procedures, patient extrication, extrication tools, and use of fire suppression systems are a plus but not required.

Position Responsibilities

  • When assigned as the fire tech requires setting up the fire suppression vehicle at the start of each shift to specific standards including the setup of the extrication equipment.
  • Able to safely extinguish minor to moderate vehicle fires being anywhere between street cars to fully converted race cars and motorcycles on track with the use of our fire suppression vehicle which is equipped with an 80 gallon on board watering system powered by nitrogen through a 1 ½" booster line with a wetting agent (Cold Fire Class A, B, D, K), along with being able to use a 2 ½ gallon water extinguisher mixed with a wetting agent (Cold Fire Class A, B, D, K) and up to a 20lb dry chemical class A, B, C fire extinguisher when dispatched.
  • Setting up the tow truck vehicle at the start of each shift and safely operate our tow trucks and or rollback when assigned as the tow truck operator.
  • Responding on track to the incident or breakdown safely when dispatched. Able to connect the vehicle to the tow truck with the use of a tow strap for flat tows, using the hydraulic boom and winch cables and spreader bar for lifting the vehicle and other devices (tow slings and straps) then safely transporting it back to the designated drop off spot determined by the race group.
