MAJOR FUNCTION:
The ICN/MB Nurse Educator will utilize system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new and current nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals for mothers and newborns. The ICN/MB Nurse Educator will be responsible for educational programs offered to the new-hires and current department staff. The ICN/MB Nurse Educator will assist with onboarding, new-hire orientation, the preceptor program, and all staff education for utilizing the most advanced technology, techniques, and evidence-based best practices. The ICN/MB Nurse Educator will be a hands-on leader and act as a mentor, leader, and resource to the department while maintaining their clinical knowledge and skillset. Because the ICN/MB Nurse Educator will be working alongside a dedicated team of nurses, the Nurse Educator will have level 3 NICU experience and either, previous nurse educator or preceptor experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
•Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN required.
•Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Education or relevant field preferred.
•3 years of progressive experience in NICU clinical specialty required.
•2 years of MB experience required.
Certifications/ Licensure:
•RN current registration with NJ State Board of Nursing required.
•National Certification RNC - NIC required.
•BLS required.
•NRP required.
•Basic Fetal Monitoring recommended.
