Supervisor - Housekeeping - FULL TIME NIGHTS- Vineland

Position Description

MAJOR FUNCTION:Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control activity within Environmental Services Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

•High School Diploma or equivalent required.

•Minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in the Healthcare Environmental Services required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

•Successful completion of supervisor course / certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

•While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; push/pull equipment; use arm; leg and back muscles for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up 15 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Position Responsibilities

Orders sufficient supplies to maintain all areas of the facility:

•Sees that disinfectants meet Infection Control Guidelines.

•Assures all that sufficient supplies are on hand at all times.

Assures compliance with all accreditation and regulatory agencies:

•RMW is segregated, packaged, and disposed of accordingly to the NJDEP guidelines.

Assumes the lead role when representing our hospital during hospital/community functions:

•Acts as a representative of the facility and make decisions based on our ability to serve.

•Assures that all loaned items are returned.

•Assures that all set-ups are accomplished within the guidelines of the set-up request form.

Acts as the department facilitator:

•Instructs in-services.

•Disseminates information to all housekeepers.

•Interacts with all employees to assure all is well.

Able to interact with all levels of management:

•Attends inter-divisional meetings when required.

•Expedites requests for services.

•Understands needs of all departments and makes decisions accordingly.
