MAJOR FUNCTION: The Digital Integration Architect is responsible for the integration of applications across the business and serves as a core member of the digital development and integration teams, orchestrating the development of FHIR integrations from multiple source systems. This position requires knowledge of frameworks including FHIR, Ignite API, JSON, Web or Restful API Development and HL7. Responsibilities include digital integration, innovation, development, ongoing support and system maintenance with a strong creative, solution-oriented background. The Digital Integration Architect is also responsible for design, system validation, and implementation and upgrade activities across solutions and venues of care with minimal supervision. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATION:

Education & Experience:

Associates degree in Computer Science or related specialty required. In lieu of Associates degree, will consider 3-5 years' experience in related specialty. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, specific service/clinical discipline, or equivalent preferred. Proficient development experience building, testing and troubleshooting integration with APIs, FHIR, JSON and Webservices Experience in managing IS related projects required.

Certification/ Licensure: N/A

Knowledge & Skills: Strong expertise in multiple healthcare applications. Proficient with Microsoft office applications. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Position Responsibilities

Collaborates with customers for workflow design, analysis and recommendations for process improvement optimizing data flow and access

Assists with application research and analysis for design decision and specification documentation Write and maintain technical documentation for APIs Develop and maintain API documentation and versioning

Leads in integration of Cerner clinical application with web and FHIR technologies.

Develop and support the integration of SMART on FHIR apps within applications.

Implement, configure, test and validate FHIR integrations from multiple source systems

Configure FHIR end points, invoke web services, handle data storage and persist into appropriate target systems.

Handle appropriate data transformation and conformation of incoming FHIR messages received in various versions.

Develop SQL data models from incoming FHIR payloads to persist data for further analytics and reporting needs.

Test, document end to end integration pipeline to meet quality and business requirements.

Establishes security and application access in compliance with HIPAA security and privacy regulations

Understands the business use of clinical and non-clinical applications and works with the Application teams to help resolve data integration issues related to those systems

Assists with evaluation of new system or system change on all foreign systems and departments sharing data.

Works with vendors to ensure deliverables are met on time, on budget and in scope

Facilitates meetings, creates minutes and manages action logs

Maintains Knowledge Base and/or Application Inventory on new applications and troubleshooting procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Maintains current knowledge of regulatory compliance

May manage small projects

Continues to enhance personal knowledge of applications and provides mentoring to other team members

Responsible for providing excellent customer service

Responsible for properly utilizing the customer service software and adhering to all policies and procedures related to the use of the software

Provides 24 x 7 on-call support acting as gatekeeper for triage of tickets including in depth notes.
