Under direction of Anatomic Pathology Manager, prepares irretrievable tissue and fluid specimens for testing in the Histology and Cytology Laboratories. Responsibilities include computer in-put, accessioning, specimen identification, specimen preparation. Knowledge of specimen acceptance and specimen rejection. Other responsibilities include maintenance and reagent management on histology and cytology staining and processing equipment. Restocking supplies. Support to other members of the Anatomic Pathology Department as needed. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to remain focused and attentive to details. Ability to plan and prioritize workload.

Other responsibilities include maintenance and reagent management on histology and cytology staining and processing equipment. Restocking supplies. Support to other members of the Anatomic Pathology Department as needed. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to remain focused and attentive to details. Ability to plan and prioritize workload. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: •High school diploma required. •Graduate of a certified MA or Phlebotomy Program, or •Associates of Science Degree preferred. •1 to 3 years' experience working in the medical field. •Experience in specimen processing management with strong customer service skills. Certification/Licensure: •Certified Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy preferred.
