Major Function:

As a Senior Clinical Informaticist II at Inspira Health, you will lead a pivotal imperative to advance the organization's clinical informatics framework by integrating a holistic approach that balances people, process, technology, and data. In this strategic role, you will leverage your expertise to optimize healthcare delivery by employing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective process improvement tactics. You will provide visionary leadership and direct mentorship to develop a team of clinical informaticists, ensuring their growth and proficiency in deploying informatics practices across the organization. You will serve as a steward of technology use in healthcare, ensuring that systems and tools are user-centric and enhance the clinical workflow. By championing data-driven decision-making, you will guide the development and optimization of informatics solutions that are practical, sustainable, and aligned with the strategic goals of improving patient care and operational efficiencies.

In this capacity, you will:

  • Strategize and Implement: Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement initiatives that leverage informatics principles to ensure regulatory compliance and enhance the security of patient data.
  • System Optimization: Utilize your specialized knowledge to lead the enhancement of clinical information systems, ensuring they are effectively tailored to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation in clinical processes through technology, leading projects that harness informatic tools to improve clinical productivity, patient outcomes, and cost efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between clinical teams, IT, and administrative leadership, facilitating collaborative efforts to ensure the successful adoption and optimal use of information systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a clinical area required; Master’s degree in Healthcare Informatics or related field strongly preferred. Master’s degree in a healthcare leadership related field (i.e. MBA) beneficial.
  • Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of clinical experience with a minimum of 2 to 5 additional years in clinical informatics or related roles. Demonstrated experience in leading clinical informatics initiatives and mentoring less experienced informaticists. Proven expertise with Oracle (Cerner) clinical applications is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, adept at mentoring and motivating teams. Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable improvements. Expertise in project management, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certifications: Certification in Clinical Informatics highly preferred; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) beneficial.
  • Other: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to form strong working relationships across all levels of the organization. Additionally, strong critical thinking skills are essential to navigate complex challenges and drive innovation in a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of clinical informaticists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Drive the adoption and proficient use of clinical informatics tools across the organization, ensuring that technology solutions align with clinical needs and quality standards.
  • Develop and oversee performance improvement projects that integrate clinical processes with information technology to enhance care delivery, clinical productivity, patient and staff engagement, and overall satisfaction.
  • Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert in clinical informatics, providing insights and direction on the latest industry trends and technological advances.
  • Facilitate effective change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption and optimization of clinical informatics systems.
  • Engage with teams across all levels of the organization to promote a unified approach to data-driven healthcare, including data visualization and interpretation for strategic decision-making.
