Honoring Top Docs and Other Achievements
Hello and welcome to the September edition of Provider Inspiration
I’m proud to recognize the 31 physicians across our hospitals and specialties named Top Doctors by SJ Magazine. Our EMS and Ground Transport team was also honored for their outstanding work, earning the Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold achievement award from the American Heart Association. In addition, the retail pharmacy team at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill was recognized as a Rising Star by VigiLanz for enhancing the monitoring of adverse drug events (ADEs) and implementing real-time alerts to identify potential ADEs. Please join me in congratulating our colleagues on these tremendous achievements.
As you may know, September is Suicide Prevention Month. The CDC recently reported that nearly 50,000 Americans died by suicide last year, a 2.6 percent increase over the prior reporting period. We need to remind each other, as people who genuinely care about one another, that referring someone to the 9-8-8 national lifeline, your HR business partner or participating in any of our ongoing security and safety programs can save a life. If you know or suspect anyone who may have thoughts of or has attempted self-harm, please speak up. Self-harm represents a loss that can never, ever be replaced.
Throughout the year, we have laid the groundwork for our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B) journey. I’d like to take a moment and thank all who participated, attended and contributed to the surveys and focus groups over the past several months—we appreciate the time you invested to provide feedback. Continuing on our journey, we are looking to incorporate the voices of our frontline staff. We are establishing a DEI&B Council to help drive future DEI&B organizational goals and priorities to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment. We are excited to continue our journey in this critical work to make Inspira a place where everyone feels safe and valued.
As we move into the last few months of the year, I’d like to remind you that receiving the influenza vaccine has been the law in New Jersey since January 2020. To keep our patients, families and ourselves safe, everyone working at Inspira must receive a flu vaccine by November 30, 2023. All medical and religious exemption requests must be completed by October 1, 2023.
In this edition of Provider Inspiration, we’re celebrating the first catheter-directed thrombectomy performed at Inspira Health and sharing information about the recent addition of our Autism Diagnostic Center to our resources for patients.
As always, thank you for everything you do.
Be well and stay safe.
