Improving Patient Care and Experience
Hello and welcome to the June edition of Provider Inspiration.
As we approach the halfway mark of 2023, Inspira is launching initiatives to gather information that can improve care and the patient experience we provide.
Earlier this month, we invited all employees to participate in the Cultural Competency Organizational Assessment (COA360) survey as part of our work with The Exeter Group to conduct a comprehensive assessment through a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B) lens. The survey, which is open through June 26, will help our organization measure our cultural competency based on the United States Office of Minority Health’s Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) standards. The results will be used to create a plan to move us forward on our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging journey in 2024.
On May 18, we implemented a new intake survey that gathers sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) data from patients. We are required to report this data to the New Jersey Department of Health, which shares it with the federal government. The goal is to carefully review how health care is delivered and to identify disparities and unconscious biases. So far, this survey has been very well received by patients, who have expressed gratitude and appreciation. Stay tuned for more information about how the survey information will be shared with clinical teams.
I want to thank the providers who supported and attended the annual Inspira Health Foundation Gala, which took place Saturday, June 3 at Borgata Hotel and Spa in Atlantic City. I hope you’ll be able to join us for the upcoming Inspira Health Foundation Golf Tournament on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Seaview Hotel and Golf Club.
Lastly, we celebrated the graduation of 82 residents last week. I am grateful for the education and mentorship that you graciously provided to them and to all our residents. Several of our graduates, including two from OB/GYN and two from Family Medicine, will be staying with Inspira. I’m looking forward to welcoming our new group of residents on July 1.
In this edition of Provider Inspiration, we are sharing what you need to know about our growing residency programs. We’re also announcing updates about our joint venture with Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI).
As always, thank you for everything you do.
Be well and stay safe,
Amy Mansue
