Inspira has more than 400 volunteers networkwide who assist in various roles at each medical center. The volunteers are largely comprised of seniors, which are among the most vulnerable population for COVID-19. Due to the pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, volunteers have been unable to participate in their usual activities at the hospitals.
During the drive-by celebrations, volunteers drove up to an Inspira branded tent outdoors. Without ever leaving their vehicles, they were greeted by leadership and given a bagged lunch and a gift of appreciation.
“This year’s celebrations look very different than previous years, but it’s important for us to continue to engage our volunteers and show them how appreciated they are,” said Amy Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health. “We miss our volunteers, and we look forward to the day when we can welcome them all back and resume a sense of normalcy.”
