Inspira Health Celebrates Topping Off of Medical Center Expansion in Mullica Hill

Feb 28, 2025

Mullica Hill, NJ (February 28, 2025)Inspira Health proudly celebrated the topping off of its Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill expansion with a beam signing and remarks from Inspira leadership and elected officials, marking a major milestone in the construction of the 168,000-square-foot addition to the campus. This significant expansion will bolster Inspira's capabilities, enabling the facility to meet the increasing healthcare needs of those it serves with enhanced services and exceptional patient care.

The expansion project, which broke ground in September 2024, includes a new 150,000-square-foot, five-story wing, an overbuild adjacent to the hospital’s main entrance, renovation of several existing spaces, and additional parking. The project will also allow Inspira to expand and enhance services such as Oncology, Neurology, and Cardiology, allowing Inspira to deliver next-generation care.

"We are thrilled to reach this pivotal point in this project and exceptionally grateful to those who have helped with its construction," said Amy B. Mansue, President and CEO of Inspira Health. "This expansion reaffirms our commitment to meeting the ever-evolving needs of South Jersey communities and reducing access disparities to top-notch medical care.”

Inspira Health is not only advancing its health care capabilities but also contributing significantly to the local socioeconomic landscape through the $240 million investment fueling the expansion. The project is expected to create 500 construction jobs and more than 100 new permanent positions upon completion. The new wing is anticipated to be operational by the first quarter of 2027 and will come with additional room for future growth.

"The placing of the final steel beam for this expansion demonstrates our determination to meet the region’s ongoing demand for health care resources," said Warren E. Moore, FACHE, Executive Vice President and COO of Inspira Health. "The demand for services has outpaced all projections. Our average occupancy rate ranges from 87% to 93% and underscores the growing health care needs of our community. Our growing medical residency training programs also need additional space.”

Inspira marked the project’s topping off with a celebratory event featuring elected officials, organizational leadership, clinicians, and construction partners.
