Mullica Hill, NJ (April 3, 2025) – Inspira Health has announced new leadership and appointments to its Network and Hospital Boards of Trustees. The appointments received unanimous approval at the boards’ respective meetings in April.

Dawn Flitcraft of Monroeville, NJ, has been appointed Chair of the Inspira Health Network Board; she previously chaired Inspira’s Hospital Board, and will continue to serve as trustee on the Hospital Board. Since 2022, Flitcraft has served as the president for FLS Advisory & Consulting, as well as COO and managing partner for The Bracken Group.

"It is an honor to take on the role of Chair of the Network Board,” said Flitcraft. “I am confident that, by working alongside such dedicated fellow board members and leaders, we will help shape the future of health care in South Jersey, ensuring it remains responsive to the evolving needs of our community in the face of a rapidly changing health care landscape. I thank Betsy Ryan, our outgoing chair, for her strong leadership and the tremendous knowledge and insight she brought to the board.”

Jeff George of Mullica Hill has been appointed Vice Chair of the Network Board and Chair of the Inspira Hospital Board. George is Managing Director and wealth management advisor in the George Wealth Management Group at Merrill Lynch and has served on Inspira’s Network Board for 3 years.

“I am excited to further contribute to Inspira’s mission of providing quality health care services across South Jersey,” said George. “Inspiring community-driven health solutions is a cause I am passionate about, and I am eager to collaborate with my fellow trustees to strengthen the health system’s impact. I want to recognize the outstanding leadership of Dawn [Flitcraft] over the past three years and am excited to continue working closely with her.”

Toni Pergolin has been appointed Secretary of the Network Board, on which she has served since 2021. Pergolin of Cherry Hill, NJ, has served nearly two decades as president and CEO of Bancroft, a leading regional nonprofit provider of programs and services for individuals with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities and those in need of neurological rehabilitation.

Karen Albanese of Westampton, NJ, has been appointed Treasurer of the Network Board, which she joined in 2023. She is a controller with Konrad Companies and has more than 30 years of financial experience, including board governance, bylaws, committees, management, finance, and human resources in a variety of industries.

The Network Board also welcomed four new trustees: Lovepreet Buttar, Mark Cartella, Brent “Bubba” Schomber, and Melissa Smith.

Lovepreet Buttar is a Managing Director and Principal at Mercadien, where she leads the firm’s Audit & Assurance Practice and co-leads the nonprofit and human services niche. She has a strong track record of supporting organizations through strategic financial leadership, accounting, auditing, and nonprofit governance. Additionally, Buttar has served on numerous boards, including the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey and the Princeton Area Community Foundation.

Mark Cartella, Senior Vice President at Alterra, has nearly two decades of background in real estate development, construction, and project management, including managing multi-million-dollar projects across health care, education, and commercial sectors. He also serves on the board of the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia and a small not-for-profit local food bank that supports children.

Brent “Bubba” Schomber, President and Chief Operating Officer of South Jersey Gas, brings experience in operational leadership and strategic oversight to Inspira’s Network Board. Having risen through the ranks at South Jersey Gas since 2007, Schomber’s tireless efforts and commitment have been key to the company’s success. Schomber also serves on the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey and the South Jersey Chapter of the American Heart Association.

Melissa Smith, Senior Vice President of Merger Integration and Human Resources at Phoenix Innovate, is a successful business strategist and marketer, who previously held senior leadership roles at several companies, including Church & Dwight Co., Inc. and Holman. Smith currently serves on the board of Hopeworks Camden, where she has been a valued member for more than four years.

These new leaders and trustees follow the impactful contributions of Michael McLaughlin and Ron Rossi, who collectively served for more than 64 years, including terms as chairs, with legacy organization boards as well as Inspira’s Hospital and Network Boards. McLaughlin and Rossi’s unwavering commitment to the health of the South Jersey region and innovative health care solutions propelled Inspira’s organizational goals; most notably, their leadership was integral to ensuring the success of the merger between South Jersey Healthcare and Underwood-Memorial Hospital that created Inspira in 2012, and the construction of Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill in 2019.

“We are elated to welcome new members to the Inspira Health Network Board, and celebrate our newly appointed officers for both our Network and Hospital boards,” said Amy Mansue, President and CEO of Inspira Health. “At the same time, we want to wish Mike and Ron well and thank them for their years of dedication and guidance. We are forever grateful to them.”
