In this pandemic, our nurses join other Inspira front-line caregivers at the bedsides of our patients sick with COVID-19. No amount of training and education could prepare any of us in healthcare for the challenge of caring for patients sick with a disease for which there is no proven treatment. Yet, our nurses persevere, drawing their strength from their devotion to their patients—and from each other.
On Nurses Day—every year on May 6—we acknowledge the role of all of the nurses among us. An Inspira nurse can be found in almost every one of our 150+ access points.
Many nurses find that their fulfillment working inside our hospitals in the ICU, the Acute Care and Surgical patient units, Behavioral Health, the OR, the ER, Medical Detox/Addictions or Maternal/Child Health. Beyond the bedside, an Inspira nurse also contributes to the work of Administration, Cardiac Catheterization, Quality, Care Coordination, Information Services, Human Resources, Clinical Research, Pre-Admission Testing and more.
Outside of the hospital, it may be a nurse who is part of your EMS transport team. An Inspira nurse may assist in your treatment at one of our doctors’ offices and urgent care centers. For the patient receiving cancer treatment, an Inspira nurse provides expertise for infusion and radiation oncology. And, when you call 1-800-INSPIRA, it may be an Inspira nurse who listens attentively to your symptoms to recommend a point of care for you.
And, when their workday ends, we commend our nurses for their commitment to pursue education for specialized certifications and advanced degrees. It’s this dedication to lifelong learning that has contributed to the Magnet status being granted to Inspira Health’s facilities in Vineland, Elmer and Bridgeton. It’s a national honor from the American Nurses Credentialing Center that reflects quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovation in professional nursing practice. This national accrediting organization has also recognized Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill with its Pathway to Excellence designation.
