BRIDGETON, NJ (August 27, 2018) – Today Inspira Health Center Bridgeton celebrated a ribbon cutting for its Emergency Department expansion and renovation. The $2.5 million investment has resulted in an increased number of medical treatment rooms and behavioral health crisis patient rooms to accommodate the growing demand for services and to provide a better patient experience.

The project, which began last Spring, encompasses 8,900 square feet of renovated space. The new design enhances the patient experience by creating two distinct areas within the ER, one for behavioral health crisis patients and another for patients with emergent medical needs. The Behavioral Health Crisis side of the ED features a new nursing station and five behavioral health crisis patient rooms. The medical side of the ED has undergone a transformation including a new waiting room, a results waiting room for patients who have already been seen by the ER physician, a nursing station, seven treatment bays and ten acute medical treatment rooms. The total number of treatment areas has increased from twelve to seventeen.

"It’s important for Inspira to continue to invest in the City of Bridgeton," said John DiAngelo, president and CEO of Inspira Health Network. “We strive to align our services to meet the community’s needs, and this Emergency Department expansion is a great example. Our other recent investment in Bridgeton, the new inpatient Medical Detox Unit, will serve patients from throughout South Jersey.”
