Inspira Health Implements TWIAGE System to Improve Patient Care and Outcomes

Oct 21, 2020

The best-in-class technology streamlines critical patient information with prehospital notification of impending ambulance arrivals.

Mullica Hill, NJ (October 21, 2020)  Inspira Health, a regional leader in health care innovation, will introduce TWIAGE System, a cloud-based platform for prehospital notification of impending ambulance arrival, across its network starting October 5. The secure tool streamlines and shares patient information, including EKG transmissions, photographs and video feeds, with Emergency Room physicians to provide a complete picture of all incoming ambulances in one central platform – all before the patient arrives at the hospital. TWIAGE allows first responders and physicians to accelerate live-saving critical care and better allocate hospital resources to improve patients’ experience and outcomes.

“For those suffering a medical emergency, such as a stroke or heart attack, every second counts and there’s no room for miscommunication,” said Thomas J. Pacek, Vice President of Information Systems and Chief Information Officer, Inspira Health. “The implementation of the cutting-edge TWIAGE System will accelerate the vital care patients need in an emergency, and arm Inspira physicians with streamlined, real-time patient information to improve outcomes.”

The HIPAA-compliant, secure TWIAGE platform can be used on any mobile device by first responders.  Inspira health employees and community-based EMS personnel have been trained on the platform.

“Our Paramedics and EMTs are trained to assess and stabilize a patient’s condition, and therefore improve their likelihood of a positive outcome from critical, life-threatening issues,” said Dr. Jay Stiefel, Medical Director of EMS and Ground Transportation, Inspira Health. “As a vital link between our prehospital providers and the Inspira Emergency Physicians, the TWIAGE System will strengthen our emergency crews’ ability to coordinate and deliver the highest quality care to patients when they need it most.”
