Read MoreMULLICA HILL, NJ (October 23, 2018) — Inspira Health Network celebrated the completion of its brand-new Innovation Center in Mullica Hill today. Located in the South Jersey Technology Park on Rowan University’s West Campus, the center is designed to accelerate the development and implementation of leading edge, patient-focused products and technologies.
The highlight of the Innovation Center is a fully functional patient room modeled after Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill’s future design. It also features a “living room” area similar to what would be found in a patient’s home. It can be used to plan a patient’s transition from an Inspira acute facility to their home. These spaces allow Inspira to design “proofs of concept,” testing technology and models that allow the health network to advance care delivery for its communities. With the use of a life-like interactive mannequin, these advances can be applied and tested directly in a clinical environment, within the Innovation Center.
Spanning approximately 2,500 square feet, Inspira’s Innovation Center features an open format design, with floor-to-ceiling glass partitions separating six collaboration rooms for brainstorming. A generous donation from the Inspira Auxiliary Gloucester County supported the Innovation Center project.
“We are already testing concepts of an interactive patient room of the future,” said Dave Johnson, vice president of Innovations. “This center is a “maker space,” offering Inspira teams an escape to collaborate, utilize innovation tools, and deliver transformational care back to our local community. We are focused on practical, but creative ways to improve safety, quality, and the overall patient experience.”
“With such close proximity to our new Mullica Hill hospital, the location of our new Innovation Center is ideal,” said John DiAngelo, president and CEO of Inspira Health Network. “By placing it in the South Jersey Technology Park, we have access to Rowan, researchers, start-up businesses and entrepreneurs.”
