A Very COVID Christmas: How to Celebrate Safely
Read MoreWhile the coronavirus pandemic may be changing the way Inspira Health delivers medical care, our commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety are unwavering. The unprecedented nature of the challenges we face as a state and nation have led Inspira Health to develop new, and expand existing, ways of delivering health care.
Through the telephone or a virtual visit, you can consult one of your Inspira Medical Group providers from the comfort and safety of your home. You will receive your diagnosis and treatment by phone or virtually through your PC, your smartphone or your tablet.
This virtual doctor visit is for all types of needs, not just those related to COVID-19.
How does this happen? Make your appointment the same way you normally would: on the Inspira website, through the MyInspira app, call 1-800-INSPIRA or call your doctor’s office. When a virtual appointment is scheduled, a link will be sent that can initiate the online session using a PC, a smartphone or tablet.
A team of Rowan University faculty and students are racing against this pandemic to create 3D-printed face masks to address predicted shortages of personal protective equipment. Within three days, they developed a model. While it’s not the N95 mask commonly recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the 3D-printed mask can be washed, disinfected and reused multiple times, a feature desperately needed while disposable masks are in short supply. Health care providers at Inspira and Cooper University Health Care are currently testing the prototypes.
It’s still too early to know whether 3D masks will be practical on the front lines of the pandemic battle, but the plastic masks might offer more protection than a bandanna or a paper surgical mask, as now suggested for use by the CDC if regular masks are not available.
Inspira Health is committed to keeping you updated on our state of readiness, the latest information on COVID-19, closures and the status of our services provided at our 150+ access points. Visit our website or call 1-800-772-2848, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
For anyone who believes they might need testing or treatment for COVID-19, Inspira has activated a virtual assistant who can help you determine what steps you should take, based on your symptoms and possible exposure. On the home page of the website or through the MyInspira app, you can answer a few questions and Rosie will recommend if you should seek medical care. This free service is available around the clock, seven days a week. Rosie’s responses are based on the most recent CDC guidelines.
Someday soon, patients with COVID-19 symptoms who come to Inspira ERs at Inspira Vineland and Mullica Hill will first be screened inside a tent before entering the department. Inspira networked with the New Jersey Hospital Association to determine the best practices for how hospitals are utilizing tents to respond to increased numbers of people visiting ERs. When that surge happens in our community, the patient will be screened by the ER staff in the tent and a plan of care will be developed for the ER visit.
All outpatient Behavioral Health professionals continue to see patients and support families. All therapy is changing from face-to-face support to in-home virtual therapy by our master’s level licensed therapists, psychiatric advanced nurse practitioners and psychiatrists. We are eager to return to in-person therapy as soon as it is safe for our patients and staff. Call 1-800-INSPIRA for Behavioral Health services.
