VINELAND, NJ (August 8, 2017) — Stephen Soloway, M.D., a rheumatologist in private practice in Vineland and a long-time member of the Inspira Medical Centers Elmer and Vineland medical staff, has been appointed to the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners. He will represent Cumberland County on the board, which is charged with protecting the public's health, safety and welfare.
The Board of Medical examiners carries out their mission by:
- Licensing medical professionals;
- Adopting regulations;
- Determining standards of practice;
- Investigating allegations of physicians misconduct; and
- Disciplining those who do not adhere to requirements.
Brought into existence through Medical Practice Act of 1894, the board comprises 21 members of whom twelve are physicians. All are appointed by the governor of New Jersey.
Dr. Soloway earned his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed his post-graduate training at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Misericordia Division; Medical College of Pennsylvania; Philadelphia Veterans Administration Center; and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. He opened his arthritis and rheumatology practice in Vineland in 1993.
Dr. Soloway holds several academic appointments including: adjunct clinical associate professor, Nursing, Allied Health & Health Science Division of Cumberland County College; adjunct clinical associate professor, Drexel University College of Medicine; clinical associate professor, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
