Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
Inspira is dedicated to cultivating a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) for all our residents, fellows and staff members. We believe that embracing DEIB is essential for enhancing patient outcomes, improving overall community health throughout South Jersey and creating a supportive environment conducive to working and learning.
DEIB Initiatives and Goals
Our DEIB initiatives and goals include celebrating and respecting differences, identifying health equity baselines, creating a system-wide screening tool for social determinants of health, launching employee resource groups and creating longitudinal experiences for residents and fellows. These efforts aim to ensure that students receive comprehensive medical training while developing a deep understanding of and commitment to health equity and inclusive care practices.
To support our DEIB initiatives and goals, we partnered with an external vendor in 2023 to assess our current landscape through surveys, interviews and focus groups. Feedback from over 1,000 employees has shaped our DEIB strategies, including forming a DEIB Employee Council and implementing a foundational DEIB training program.
